Morphemes


There are two types or morphemes, which is Free morphemes and Bound morphemes.

The first is Free morphemes, a free morphmes is a word that can stand alone with meaning. For example when you ask “ what are you doing ?” and your friend reply “ cook “,this is free morpheme, the word Cook is a free morpheme.


And the second is Bound morpheme is the opposite of free morpheme, it is the word that cant stand alone, for example Played, manly, smarter, the words ED,LY,ER is one of bound morpheme.


Is it so easy to recognize a words that have free or bound morhpeme right ?

Proceses of word formation a.    Compounding compounds or compound words. In Linguistics, compounds can be either native or borrowed.
